TELANGANA: 45 people, including six children and women, were killed in a bus accident in Telangana’s Jagtiyal district on Tuesday. The overcrowded state-run bus was carrying nearly 90 people when it veered off the road and rolled down the hill.
45 people have died so far. Injured have been admitted to nearby government hospitals. Rescue operation is underway.” said Sindhu Sharma, SP Jagtial.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has expressed also grief over the incident and directed the officials to provide better medicare to the injured. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has also announced financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh each to the families of the dead, a CMO release said.
At least 31 of the victims were women while four were children. The injured were shifted to a government-run hospital in Jagtial. Those critically injured were shifted to hospitals in Karimnagar and Hyderabad.
