BANGKOK: The 19th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards dedicated its awards section to content-driven films which held sway in the nominations list.
IFFA 2018 concluded on Sunday with some dazzling performances by Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Iulia Vantur, Kriti Sanon, Rekha and others. While brimming withglitz and glamour. Acing out its competitors, Tumhari Sulu bagged 7 nominations and ended up winning the Best Film award. Saket Chaudhary of Hindi Medium fame was honoured with the Best Director Award while Irrfan Khan won Best Actor for Hindi Medium. Mom actress Sridevi, who passed away earlier this year, was decorated with the Best Actress award posthumously.Among others, Newton director Amit V Masurkar won the award for Best Story while Nitesh Tiwari and Shreyas Jain won Best Screenplay for Bareilly Ki Barfi.Meher Vij was declared the Best Actor in Supporting Role (Female) for her performance in Secret Superstar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui won Best Actor in Supporting Role (Male) for Mom.
