VIJAYAWADA: Nandamuri Harikrishna, who died in car crash Wednesday, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and apparently driving at a high speed, a senior police official said. Nandamuri Harikrishna died in a ghastly road accident in Nalgonda on Wednesday.
Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister NT Rama Rao’s son was thrown out of the vehicle after it hit the median on Narketpally Highway.
He was also asking for a water bottle and missed noticing a slight curve on the road, the SP said. Police were trying to verify the speed at which the car was travelling using camera footage, he said. Two of Harikrishna’s friends, who were also in the car, sustained minor injuries, he added.
As a mark of respect to Harikrishna, son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and founder of TDP, NT Rama Rao, the government announced a State mourning on Wednesday and Thursday.
